I have painted the inside of the box black. Unfortunate, I don't think the paint is holding any good. I picked the box because it already has a hole on the side of the box. I figure it would be one less thing to do. Now I have to go back to square one. It sucks.

Being Semi-Productive

My current project is building a Pinhole camera for my Photography class. I am looking online for intrusion on how to build one. Hopefully, I can work on it tomorrow.

Today was a semi productive day. Filled out another job application. Hopefully, this one may work out. Then went to the antique mall to buy some vinyl albums. I been eyeing The Beatles album for about a few months now. But my greatest find of the day was Queen’s News of the World album. I been wanting to buy all the Queen vinyl's to go with my Queen CDs. Here my finds for the day:

More Snow Expected

Great, more snow expected in this area again. We got quite a bit of snow this same time last week. I just saw we are under Winter Weather Advisory until midnight Saturday morning. I am getting tired of snow. I am ready for spring to be here.

I been working on my hemp jewelry. My goal is to build enough to sell at Hillybilly Days in June. I am thinking about building a website to show off my different works. I found a hosting site for the site. I am just looking for a name for it right now. The only name I got so far is Hippie Gnome.

Another side project I am going to try to do is making homemade Bath Salt. I got the stuff to make it the other day. Within the next day or two, I am going to try out the recipe for it.

Job Search Update

First off...I feel like a job searching whore. I walk in a place and pray to Baby Jesus that the place is hiring. It wears a person out. Granted, I had no plan of attack. Just walked into places. I forgot how many applications I have filled out over the past few days now. It was a lot though. Now I get to do this all over again. Yay me!!!

No one can deny that General Larry Platt created the best water cooler moment from last night's 'American Idol' auditions. If anybody in the Atlanta crowd deserved 15 minutes of fame on national television, it was Platt.

The 62-year-old, who took part in the Civil Rights Veterans Movement in 1963, gave Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi a comic relief after a long day of auditions when Platt sang his original song, 'Pants on the Ground.' But we're loving all the remixes that have hit the Internet.

My current project right now is cataloging all my DVDs. I spent years working at a video store and have dvds movies to show for it. I want to get them in CD Book like this:

By doing that, the cases will not take up as much space as it does. By organizing them, I know what I have. It is amazing that I have found movies I didn't know I even owned. I am building a database using Microsoft Excel. I want to keep the list in ABC order but when they are put in the books, I plan name the books like Book A slot 1 to help find any certain title.

I am not sure if I should log in my VHS movies in the list or create it's own list. I have a bunch of VHS movies too. You can find them so dirt cheap now that if you watch them once, you got your moneys worth. Any suggestions on that issue?

My dream is to one have a home movie theater. I would love to have a basement to turn into the home theater. I have tons of movie posters to frame. I would want friends and family to come over and enjoy the home theater too. Right now, it just a pipe dream but who knows.

Tonight in my Tort class, I got to thinking about maybe I might want to go to law school. I enjoy my law class a lot. I am currently studing to have an associte in Paralegel Studies. After I gradurate, should I works as a Paralegel for awhile and see if I like the field. My other optinon is to go to law school right after I gradurate after school. Atleast, I have a another year or so to think of it.

No longer will American TV audiences be asking doctor who?

Popular British actor David Tennant, best known for playing the title role in the BBC's long-running sci-fi series "Doctor Who," is set to make his American television debut as the title character in NBC's hourlong pilot "Rex Is Not Your Lawyer."

Written by Andrew Leeds and David Lampson, "Rex" centers on Rex Alexander (Tennant), a top Chicago litigator who begins suffering panic attacks and takes up coaching clients to represent themselves in court.

David Semel, who directed the pilots for "Heroes" and "Life," has come on board to helm the comedic legal drama from Universal Media Studios and BermanBraun.

He will also executive produce with veteran Barry Schindel (who is attached as showrunner), Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein. Leeds and Lampson serve as supervising producers.

NBC greenlighted the project in August, about two years after it was first developed, and had been trying to find a lead actor for several months until Tennant came along and nailed the part.

Tennant, a theater and TV actor, rose to fame playing the mysterious alien time-traveler at the center of "Doctor Who" for the past five years. His performance as the Doctor has been often rated as the top in the franchise's 46-year history.

Tennant's casting is reminiscent of the tapping of another established British TV actor with virtually no American TV experience, Hugh Laurie, as the lead on Fox's medical drama "House."

Tennant, who co-starred in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," recently signed with UTA. He's also repped by U.K.'s Independent Talent Group.

Lifetime Movies

I have to admit, I can be a sucker for some of Lifetime movies. Granted, there is some real crappy ones but there also some really good ones too. I was watching one today and I saw ad for two new movies best on two of Ann Rule's books. Ann Rule writes true crime book. I am a huge fan of her book. I have read quite a few of them. Any who, there going to two miniseries based off the two books, Too Late To Say Good Bye and Everything She Ever Wanted.

Out of the two books, I liked Everything more than Too Late to say Goodbye. I am curious how loyal the movies will be to the case. I own both the book and the movie to And Never Let Her Go. The movie is loyal to the case to a point. The biggest problem with the movie is that the lead actress was so miscast. The actress in the movie had a short blonde pixie cut while her real life counter part was a long brunette with curly hair. That was big problem with the movie.

That is sad that I am excited about two Lifetime movies.

First off, Thank you so much to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday. It really meant a lot to me. It was a pretty easy going day. The highlights where getting my car back from the auto shop and hanging out with Lica. I don't get my gift from my brother until tomorrow. I will receive my parents gift next week.

I am half way done with all my homework for the upcoming week. Took my test this morning. I think I did good. Right now, I am trying to find two tort court cases to do a court brief on. The first one I picked was the infamous McDonald's coffee case. I havn't picked a second one yet. I found one, Tarasoff v. Regents of the University of California, but the case brief is about 38 pages long. Depends on if I want to sort though all that. My paper is not due until the end of November but I might want to get a head start.

Any ideas for a good tort law case?

I love the mid season premiere. Any episode that ties in dead celebrities + Ghost Hunters + Toddlers and Tiara = Win. Even the Chipotlaway subplot was funny. I knew they had to make fun of Michael Jackson. It was a given. I like the "how many dead celebrities can you name on the plane". I totally want some gifs from this episode. Granted, I want the Kayne West's Fish Fu**er song though for my phone.

Other than South Park, I am going to try to watch SGU. I heard it is OK but since I am a huge Stargate Whore, I am in.

Day Two - Concert w/ Pictures

I know it is really day three but this is going to count for day two. I havnt really been by my laptop much on Thursday to type. Most of the day was spend exploring around the neiborhood of Chicago. We didnt really want to drive, so we walked around everywhere. We found quite a few record stores. Found a used cd/dvd store that had some neat stuff. Found some really cool books. I found a book about Freddie Mercurys life and a book about famous crimes.

Now to the concert:

People where lining up outside since four. It was raining and cold. I thought I could walk there and turns out, I didnt know where it was. By the time I got there, I was wet and cold. We started to talk to people in the line. I met a girl from Asia and a guy from London. We where able to get in the Metro around six thirty. It was first come, first serve with standing. Luckly for use, we got a spot right in front of the stage. We only had some people in front of us but we where extermly close to the stage.The opening act, Bear Hands was really good. Got the crowd moving. After their set was done, It was time for the main show.

Manic Street Preachers was awsome live. It was cool to see how the crowd got into them. I really enjoyed the show alot. Took tons of pictures and video. After the show, Two of the band member stood outside and signed autographs. My brother got all three member to sign his cd. I was able to meet two of them. I got them to sign my concert ticket and have my picture with them. It was pretty fun.

Tommorrow, we are heading about to home. Our plan is to leave after ten AM. Hopefully we will return home before six PM. I plan on uploading all the photos later on that night.

Day One

We left the house a bit before six AM. Made it to St. Louis a bit after nine. We both desided to stop and go to the arch. I was able to live one of my two dreams, I went to the top of the arch!!! (Other dream is to go to a St. Louis Blues Game).

Going to the top of the Arch, My brother and I had this converstian:
He looks out the window and see the tram moving up
Him: Wow thats is quite a drop and I am scared of heights
Me: Why the hell are you looking down then?

On top, it was so pretty. Got tons of pictures of that. After that, we walked around St. Louis for a few hours. We got lost in East St. Louis. Finally around one, we found our way out of St. Louis. We finally made it to Chicago after six. Here where It got bad. I am not used to that type of city traffic. I was freaking out and we keep geting lost in the city. It took us over two hour to find the damn hotel. Tommorrow, should be a hell alot better. Will try to post one pictures on myspace.

One last thing, in St.Louis, we where trying to find a way get out of there. We ask the woman at the parking area. We told her that we are using mapquest. She looks at us and goes "Mapquest is pretty worthless".

I decided use blogger for my trip. There is a lot of people who is either on my facebook or myspace. I keep myspace private so this way facebook peeps can read about it too. I am nervous about the trip to Chicago. The reason behind the trip is to go to a Manic Street Preachers concert. My brother is a die hard fan and they don't tour the U.S. that much. We leave tomorrow morning and check out on Friday. The concert is on Thursday night. I figure we will be back home on Friday night or Saturday morning. The trip is about seven hours one way. We might go to Detroit since it is a four hour drive from Chicago. Detroit is up in the air right now. I should have photos up this weekend. I will probably send some mobile pictures to myspace. Facebook mobile does not work with my cell provider. I'll try to update this everyday of my trip. I also try to update my twitter though about the day too.

02.Chicago Drivers Scare Me. Driving there is like playing a real life frogger with your car.

03.7/11 Spokesperson is Domo. Domo rocks. I want a Domo doll for my Birthday or Christmas. He is so cute.

04. Illinois interstate road work is just as bad, maybe worse than Missouri. I swear I would hit road work ever thirty miles. Here I thought Missouri is bad.

I am sick and tired of listening to Jon and Kate bitch and trash each other. Never watched the show once and don't planned to. Just plain old tired of Kate playing the poor victum and Jon being a manwhore. The real victims are their kids. If it was just the two of them and no kid then all this bitching at each on tv wouldn't be so bad. I think the poor kids are just stuck in the stupid mess. If both parents have problems, they should work it out in private, not on tv talkshows. Hopefully, all the kids grow up fine and ok.

Since now I have the time again, started up reading. I picked up my current book at Dollar Tree. It is called The Jesus Papers by Michael Baigent.

John Hughes, the director of a memorable string of 1980s teen films — from The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles to Ferris Bueller's Day Off — has died of a heart attack, according to his Los Angeles-based publicists.
Hughes died suddenly during a walk while visiting family in Manhattan, a spokesman said. He was 59.
He was born in Michigan but began his writing career as an advertising copywriter in Chicago — and set most of his films in the Chicago area.
Much of his work focused on high school antics coupled with teen angst. It was a comic formula that made stars of such actors as Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy and Anthony Michael Hall.
Other future stars who made notable appearances in early Hughes films included John Cusack and Jon Cryer.
Hughes began his Hollywood career in the late 1970s as a writer for the short-lived television series Delta House, based on the successful film Animal House.
He went on to pen the feature films Class Reunion, Mr. Mom and the classic National Lampoon comedy Vacation.
But Hughes rocketed to fame in 1984 with the release of directorial debut, Sixteen Candles, which he also wrote. The film launched the careers of Ringwald and Hall.
Both stars teamed with Hughes again the following year for the quintessential high-school angst film The Breakfast Club. The film's group of young stars included Ringwald, Hall, Estevez, Nelson and Sheedy. They became known as the "Brat Pack."
Hughes followed that success with Weird Science and the cult hit Ferris Bueller's Day Off, featuring a young Broderick.
In later years, he went on to direct Planes, Trains & Automobiles — featuring an adult cast pairing Steve Martin and John Candy — She's Having a Baby, Uncle Buck (again with Candy) and Curly Sue.
Those were the only eight films Hughes directed, but he continued to be a prolific writer, many times using the pseudonym Edmond Dantes. His writing credits include Home Alone, Beethoven and Maid in Manhattan. His final film story credit was the Owen Wilson comedy Drillbit Taylor.
According to his publicists, Hughes spent much of the past decade maintaining a farm in northern Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons John and James; and four grandchildren.

WOW, I am in shock. I have seen (& own) a bunch of his movies. Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off are all teen movie classics. My favorite John Hughes movie is Some Kind of Wonderful. I found it in the five dollar bin at Wallyworld a few weeks ago. It is basically Pretty in Pink but it a teen boy that falls in love with the popular girl, while his tomboy best friend is in love with him. I personally, liked it better than Pretty in Pink. Pretty in Pink is good but sorta more like a fairytale while Some Kind of Wonderful is more real. You can understand where all the main characters are coming from in this one. I just like it better than Pretty in Pink. Mr. Hughes is going to be a hard writer to replace. No one could write teen movies like him.

A new study reaches the at once fascinating and troubling
result that preschoolers as young as three can suffer one of the most
debilitating mental illnesses we know of: chronic depression.

An
Associated Press story reports some of the study's main details:

The
study is billed as the first to show major depression can be chronic even in
very young children, contrary to the stereotype of the happy-go-lucky
preschooler.
Until fairly recently, "people really haven't paid much
attention to depressive disorders in children under the age of 6," said lead
author Dr. Joan Luby, a psychiatrist at Washington University in St. Louis.
"They didn't think it could happen ... because children under 6 were too
emotionally immature to experience it."
Previous research suggested that
depression affects about 2 percent of U.S. preschoolers, or roughly 160,000
youngsters, at one time or another. But it was unclear whether depression in
preschoolers could be chronic, as it can be in older children and adults.
Luby's research team followed more than 200 preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, for
up to two years, including 75 diagnosed with major depression. The children had
up to four mental health exams during the study.
Among initially depressed
children, 64 percent were still depressed or had a recurrent episode of
depression six months later, and 40 percent still had problems after two years.
Overall, nearly 20 percent had persistent or recurrent depression at all four
exams.
Depression was most common in children whose mothers were also
depressed or had other mood disorders, and among those who had experienced a
traumatic event, such as the death of a parent or physical or sexual abuse.
Here's the abstract of the study. The study's conclusions, according to the
abstract:

Preschool depression, similar to childhood depression, is not
a developmentally transient syndrome but rather shows chronicity and/or
recurrence... These results underscore the clinical and public health importance

preschoolers with depression is warranted to inform the longitudinal course
throughout childhood.
What makes this study so interesting is, if it's borne
out by further research that some preschoolers do indeed have chronic
depression, then it raises a huge challenge. How will mental health
professionals effectively treat these children?

Not nearly enough is
known about how antidepressant drugs, a major treatment for people with
depression affect such young minds, including their long-term brain development.
Presumably, cognitive behavior play therapy which is often used in children this
age, would be part of the therapy. But, again, the potential use of powerful
antidepressants in such young patients is enough to give many people pause.

WTF, Next thing you know, newborn will be found to have depression. I swear to baby Jesus, it a way to dope up our future generations.

Research Paper Update

I have my last class tomorrow. I have to take my finale in Goverment and Polictic class. I am a tab bit nervous but I shouldnt let my nerves bother me. Finshed my research paper for Composition. over the weekend. I got my grade wich was 180/200. Overall, I made 91% A in the class. I was about to bust into tears. I thought I would have made a B in there. I am still in shook though.
Classes will not start back for me until the end of the month. I signed up for: Intro to Socilocloy, Desktop Applications, Tort Law, and Interview/Investagions. Hopefully, the legal classes will have enough students to keep the class going. I do have one back up class picked just in case one gets cancelled: Spanish I. Cross my fingers I get to take all the classes I picked.

Well, I have some progress with my research paper. I have the bare bones fact inserted in my paper. Today is finishing it up and tomorrow I will print it out. Right now , my main worry is that I have my sources cited correctly in the paper. It looks correct so far. I have all Sunday and during the day tomorrow. Cross your fingers for me.

My brother had some good news about the concert. Manic Street Preacher has put Tsunami back on their set list. It is one of my favoirte songs.

"Wow, how much weight have you lost?"

I been getting that remark everyday now. I have lost quite a bit of weight since last summer. It wasnt on purpose though. This past year, I been though some much hell that it had affected my weight. When I am stressed, I dont eat as much. I am not sure how much weight I have lost. My guess is about 30 to 50 pounds. It comes down to stress. I had my good days and bad days.
What got me thinking about my weight was shopping today. I had to buy some jeans that fit. I found that I fit into a size 7. The last time I was a size 7 was high school. Last year, I was around a size 15 to 14. Size 7 made me stop and think about the weight loss. I desided if I get down to a size 5 then I will try to get some help about all the weight I have lost. Size 5 will be the cut off line.
I am ready for this week to be over. The next two days will be trying to get my research paper down. Nevous as hell though. I am so worry about messing up. This paper is a big part of my grade. Tomorrow, all I will do is set in my chair and finish it up.
I am going on a trip in the first part of October. My brother got ticket to his favorite band, Manic Street Preachers. It will be in Chicago. Sorta nervous but excited though. A road trip should be fun.

Is it wrong that I am sorta excited for this? I been a fan of the Stargate series since the first episode of Stargate SG 1. Looks like the writers trying are trying to write more 'darker' stories. It will be hard one to call until the show starts to air. One big problem with Atlantis was that the writers got stuck on their favorite character (coughcoughRodneyMcKaycough) or their shiny new toy (coughJenniferKellercough). Then the writers would forget that there was other characters on the show (coughRonanandTeylacough). As long as the writing is more equal for characters, then there is a chance.

I have five hours to come up with a composition paper. It is a literary analysis of the book,Black Like Me. My main topic will be one of the setting, New Orleans. Hopefully, I will get a surge of engery. Sidenote, Thank god Big Brother is back. Love listening to the feeds as background noise. Tons of fights so far this season.

I watch two movies over the weekend. The first was Bed Time Stories. At the ending credit, Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" began to play. Then I started to watch "Yes Man". I'll be damn, the movie starts with Journey's "Separate Ways". Is Journey giving Hollywood a deal on their music?

I discovered that I have two fears that is holding me back at school. The first fear is failure. I am scared of failing at everything I do. I had my Lititgation test yesterday. I started to freak out when I got my test. I blacked out everything that I had learn. I felt like crap taking the test. I took the test feeling defeated. I need to learn that I will not always fail at everything I touch. It is a hard feeling to shake.

My second fear is writing. I get overwelm by writing. I get so scared because I feel I can not write. I know my grammer isn't the best. I need to step back and get over this fear. I need to try to harder to make sure my writing is better.

At first I thought it was some new horror movie that Robert Carlyle and Lou Diamond Phillips was in. Then I realized it for the new Stargate series. I said out loud "What the fuck". I am really, really, really surprised the show could get Robert Carlyle. Is he one of the bigger names the show has ever had? Then I recognized another cast member, David Blue. David played Clift St. Paul (Marc's boyfriend) on Ugly Betty. I liked him on Ugly Betty and is kinda cute.

I had my head in the sand about the new Stargate series so it was a surprise to see the TV promo. I knew it was being made and that it. I had only seen two episodes of the last season of Stargate Atlantis. I am extremely out of the loop.

What does everyone think of the promo? I understand it is geared to the BSG fans. Think it would be good? I have heard no rumors about it so I would love to hear what everyone thinks.

On a side note, I will do a running play by play for Heroes tomorrow night. This play by play is a learning process. I understand that I might not be the fasted at describing stuff, just bare with me folks.

School Update

Just want to update everyone on school. This semester I am taking two clases: Legal Writing and Litigation. I like both of my classes. I am so picky about my writing. I am always second guesses myself in my writing. Litigation is interesting. The whold court sysytem is neat. I am thinking about taking a fuller load this summer. Maybe get some of my basic out of the way.

Snow!

I survived the snow/ice. Here we got over seven inches. Down south had it worse. They got quite bite of ice. They lost most of their power down there. Around here, we where only supposed to get a couple of inches of snow. My area had the most snowfall.
It started to sleet Monday night. I left for work at four thirty. It just stared to sleet. By six p.m., The ground was covered with ice/sleet. I measured an inch of ice at seven p.m. I went back out at eight and it was at an inch and a half. I was able to close early and had to clean my car. It continues to sleet most of the day Tuesday. By sundown, it changed over to snow. It snowed hard over night.
I did take some pictures of the snow but I haven’t loaded them in the computer yet. I should have them up in a day or two.

The Killers released their new video, Spaceman. I like the video. I was expecting Aliens in this video . Brandon's outfit is odd. It reminds me a lot of Queen's Its a Hard Life. I think the reason why is that both videos are very artist and over the top with out being campy.

Starting next week, I will be a college student. I finally desided to do something. For the last year, I been debating back and forth about either going to beauty school or college. I wouldn't mind doing hair but the only downside is that there is a lot of beautitans in this town. Plus, I wasnt sure if I would like it or not. I hate to mess up someones hair. I finally signed up for some class this spring semester. I am either going for a business or paralegal degree. I have a class on litigation. My other class was legal writing but the school cancelled it due to not enough people signing up. The school is supposed to call me with my new class.

I did recieve a blessing today. I sign up for school and student aid pretty late. I havn't received any word on my aid or loans. Today, I had to pick up my books. I barely had the money for the books. I thought to ask up front desk about the status of everything. Turns out I did get some aid and got a voucher for my books. I was so shock and happy. Right now, I just have to find out my other class and I will be set.
