A WINTRY MIX OF FREEZING RAIN...SLEET AND SNOW WILL LIKELY IMPACT
THE MISSOURI OZARKS...SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND THE SURROUNDING REGION
NEXT WEEK. THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR SIGNIFICANT ICE AND SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY...AND POSSIBLY INTO
WEDNESDAY.
THIS WINTER STORM WILL DEVELOP AS A STORM SYSTEM APPROACHES FROM
THE WEST AND DRAWS MOISTURE NORTHWARD OVER THE ARCTIC AIRMASS IN
PLACE ACROSS THE REGION. PRECIPITATION MAY BEGIN AS EARLY AS MONDAY
THEN BECOME WIDESPREAD MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY. PERIODS OF
WINTRY PRECIPITATION MAY CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY.
THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS STORM SYSTEM AND RESULTING PRECIPITATION
TYPE AND AMOUNTS REMAIN UNCERTAIN. AREA INTERESTS INCLUDING THOSE
WITH TRAVEL PLANS...THE MEDIA...TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENTS AND
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ARE URGED TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.
